“The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul…”

…so the Bible is enough, right? It’s actually a waste of time to read or listen to any other books…right?

  1. The Bible refers to other books for historical verification. See Joshua 10:13, 2 Samuel 1:18, 1 Kings 11:41.
  2. Esther 2:23, 6:1-3 speak about the importance of the chronicles of the Medo-Persian kings in God’s deliverance of His people.
  3. “I Daniel understood by books” (Daniel 9:2). We don’t know which books these were, but…
  4. 2 Timothy 3:15-17 lays out some of the purposes for which God gave the scriptures. These purposes do not exclude the use of other books.
  5. In Acts 17:28 and Titus 1:12, Paul quoted Greek poetry and Cretian prophecy.
